Institute for Politics and Society organizes another meeting with top representatives of leading Czech and European political scene and diplomacy and the highest representatives of major companies and enterprises.

This time we meet with H.E. Jan Thompson, the British Ambassador to the Czech Republic and Pavel Telička, Vice President of the European Parliament, former European Commissioner in charge, and Vice President of the ALDE Group.

During the meeting, the speakers will primarily focus on the upcoming Brexit. The United Kingdom will be the first country to leave the European Union on the basis of Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty and the country intends to withdraw from the single market and from other EU structures such as the Court of Justice of the EU. This is the latest plan of Prime Minister Theresa May.

How will the Brexit process work? Who negotiates with whom and about what? What will the EU be like without Britain? Will the United Kingdom remain together or will Brexit cause disintegration and Scottish independence? What does Brexit mean for the Czech Republic and what position will the Czech politicians take?

The meeting will be held on March 27th in the form of a working breakfast from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. under the moderation of Jan Macháček, the Chairman of the Board of the Institute for Politics and Society. The meeting will be held in English without translation service and it is by invitation only.
