Who We Are

A graduate of International territorial studies and Russian and Eastern European Studies at the Institute of International Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University in Prague. Pojman has undertaken academic internships in Great Britain and Russia. In the course of his postgraduate studies at the Institute of International Studies, Pojman has pursued research in the field of organized crime in Russia, Ukraine and the Czech Republic, during which he has made several research journeys in both the European and Asian parts of Russia, Belarus, Transnistria and Ukraine.

In research, Pojman specializes in matters of security, the connection of organized crime and politics and the issue of human trafficking (forced labor, prostitution, mendicancy) in the EU and Post-Soviet states. Pojman is a founding member and a member of the executive board of the Czech Society of Criminology. Pojman is a participant of St. Petersburg Centre of Deviantology and a member of the redaction board of peer-reviewed journal Jurisprudence and Security Practice of Tyumen Institute of Ministry of Internal Affairs. Pojman lectures at Czech and foreign universities, works as an independent consultant in private, public and non-governmental sector and collaborates with Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe on issues regarding election monitoring and the fight against human trafficking.
