Who We Are

Profesor Tomáš Opatrný teaches at the faculty of Science at the Palacký University Olomouc. His main fields of expertise are quantum informatics, quantum and atom optics; he does research in spin compression and nonadiabatic coupling in quantum systems.

Tomáš Opatrný

From 1995 to 2003 he worked at many research facilities abroad, e.g. in Germany (University of Jena and Erlangen), Israel (Weizmann Institute of Science) and the US (Texas A&M University).

He is the author of 70 internationally published papers with approximately 1600 citations. He was awarded as “Outstanding referee” for reviewing articles in the magazine American Physical Society.

From 2010 to 2011 he was a member of the governmental organization Section for Science, Research and Innovation. He currently serves there as a member of the commission for evaluating results of SSRI.

In 2006-2014 he was the vice dean at the Faculty of Science at the Palacký University Olomouc where he now serves as the vice-chairman of the academic senate and he is also the vice-chairman of the University Council.
