Artificial Intelligence (AI) represents one of the biggest changes in technology since the beginning of factories and modern industries. In the coming years, it will transform not only our economy, but also society and virtually every aspect of our lives. Smart algorithms will not only advise us, but also make decisions for us. Breakthrough trends don’t make sense to fight, they need to be seen as an opportunity that we can use to drive the future prosperity of our country and society.

Therefore, the government, following the example of the United States, has commissioned an expert group of analysts, the National Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence in the Czech Republic, which will be approved by the end of April 2019. The Czech Republic thus follows the activities of the European Union and is actively involved in trying to catch up with the leading US and China in a global race for technological and economic dominance. One of the first efforts is to build a world-class AI superhub, such as Singapore or Montreal, from Prague. The basis here is to be the European Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence Research – one of the main priorities of the Government of the Czech Republic and our V4 Presidency in mid-2019.

How can AI help the Czech economy move towards higher added value? Will Prague be one of the world’s centers of artificial intelligence and what do we need to do? And will we become the brain of a robotic revolution?
