Delegation of Prague to the EU and the Institute for Politics and Society invite you to the debate "Will US-EU relations be great again?". The event is organised with the financial support of the European Parliament. Neither the European Parliament nor the European Liberal Forum is liable for it.

Security is certainly the most important challenge for Europe. Not only do we still have an unsolved situation with aggression in Ukraine, an assertive Russia, cyber attacks, disinformation, ISIS, terrorism, migration crises, and energy security. Now we also have an uncertainty over the future of US-EU relations. Trump’s administration clearly does not believe in the future and strength of the EU. There are differences of opinions between Europe and U.S. We will also discuss the responsibilities and mission of NATO, Russia and, above all, the future of EU.

What are the chances for creating a credible common European defence?

General Petr Pavel, Chairman, NATO Military Committee

Guntram B. Wolff, Director, Bruegel

Hanna Deringer,  Policy Analyst, European Center for International Political Economy

Peter Chase, Senior Fellow, The German Marshall Fund Brussels

Jacques Rupnik, Professor at Sciences Po in Paris and honorary visiting professor at Charles University in Prague

The debate will be moderated by Jan Macháček, Chairman of the Institute for Politics and Society and will be held on 26th April from 7:00 pm at Prague House, Avenue Palmerston 16, 1000 Bruxelles, Belgium. The event is held under the auspices of the Prague House in Brussels.
