CHECK OUT OUR PREVIOUS EVENTS

If you are a student of  a humanitarian subject you have to be proactive, you have to network all time, so as a  student of political sciences I  applied for an internship at the Institute for Politics and Society.

My previous  experiences that correlated with policy was mostly through participation in various projects, but the internship showed me what it means to work, how to manage my time and how to be able to use  my soft skills, even skills I didn’t previously know about. I have been involved in administrative activities – updating my database of contacts, sending invitations to various events, processing CVs, translations, but also working with the website.

A trainee enhances their personality everywhere, learns to live in another city, improves their formal communication. Their job is to welcome people who come to the institution, and at the same time you have the opportunity to participate in the events held on by Institute – for example, Labor Law in Practice or Business Breakfast with Korean Ambassador to the Czech Republic and Member of the European Parliament. Debating about an  education, its reforms, preparing for the future profession was naturally close to my student status.  I also could visit the Polish Embassy, which was a pleasant cultural experience, then finishing the end of the working day with an exhibition and the concert would not be bad.

In addition to administrative experience I gained priceless political practice. We dealt with the issue of labor migration in the Czech Republic, which I compared within the EU, third countries, but also V4 itself. Now I am familiar with  the statistical data I used to prepare the tables, graphs,  papers that I edited according to the requirements of the reviewed journals, I wanted to say that now I am much more patient person and thanks to the Institute’s staff, I also did the first step to being a detailist.

Thank you for the experience.
