Four months at the Institute for Politics and Society gave me valuable insight into event organization. From writing invitations and communication materials to graphic design, PR, and coordinating contacts for conferences and working breakfasts. It was work I genuinely enjoyed, especially because I could see how preparations in spreadsheets and emails gradually turned into real events attended by people who actually make decisions on the issues being discussed. What I appreciated most, however, was the IPPS team, who really showed me the ropes and made both the work and communication enjoyable. I’m taking away valuable experience that will definitely help me move forward, both in whatever I do next and in shaping my idea of what a good working environment should look like.
