Safer Internet for Kids and Youth
Children and youth belong to the most vulnerable groups online. In the online world, they are facing threats, such as cyberbullying or stalking. Even meeting people online can be risky, as there can be an individual with indecent intentions on the other side of the Internet. The current situation even more “tied” the children and youth to the modern information and communication technologies, further increasing the occurrence of dangers.
The publication focuses on this topic from the viewpoints of different experts. It pays attention to concrete threats and their psychological aspects, sexual exploitation of children on the Internet, education and prevention, and mechanisms and policies for protecting the children online. The foreword was written by the Vice-President of the European Parliament, Dita Charanzová.
The publication is released by the European Liberal Forum in cooperation with the Institute for Politics and Society and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom.
