The Institute for Politics and Society is holding a discussion called "Is Europe Attractive for Young People?" The debate will be held in Czech.
Czechs are rather skeptical about the European Union and long-term policy. Although opinion polls show that young people have a higher degree of satisfaction with the function of the EU, with age skepticism towards the EU is growing. Likewise, the highest level of pride in European citizenship is expressed by the youngest age group, namely people aged 15 to 19 years. With an increase in the age of the respondent, the level of pride gradually decreases.
How do you see it? How much do you really know about the EU? What would you change and why? Why you (or don’t) you like the EU? Can you defend your views before an EU representative?
Main guests:
Věra Jourová, Commissioner of the European Commission
Martina Dlabajová, Member of the European Parliament
The debate will be led by Jarolím Antal, Ph. D., and Director of the Center for European Studies at the at University of Economics.
The debate will take place on February 17, 2017 9:30 to 11:00 at the University of Economics in the Likešova Aula (New building, floor, room number 3).
