The consequences of the coronavirus pandemic have affected the world economy. European industry is struggling to recover from an unexpected situation that affects millions of people across the continent. Factories desire to release all restrictions that prevent them from fully producing. The most affected are small and medium-sized enterprises which form the backbone of the EU´s economy. If sufficient support is not obtained for these enterprises mass layoffs or the complete collapse of some companies may occur. Recovery and rescue of these enterprises must be currently one of the EU's top priorities.
How could we support these businesses? How to set up this support? Should it be the EU’s main priority? In what form is the support currently taking place?
