The Institute for Politics and Society is organizing a debate called The New Era of Urbanism in Brno. The Debate will be held in Czech.
The Institute for Politics and Society invites you to a debate in the continuing series on urbanism, this time pertaining to the new era of urbanism in Brno.
Does urbanism apply to you? Have you ever criticized a new building in the city center, or poor infrastructure? If so, then urbanism applies to you much more than you think.
The urban development of cities should reflect developments in the city itself, but also the people living there and the de facto whole society. Perhaps this is the issue that Czech planners should focus on. Criticism has recently been directed primarily at Brno and the long-existent department chief architect. Come and discuss how she directed the urban development of Brno, along with the new master plan and management strategies in public space.
The discussion will include:
Petr Vokřál, Mayor of Brno
Michal Sedlacek, chief architect of the city of Brno
Zdenek Vydrová, architect
The debate will take place on March 2, 2017 from 17:00 at the Moravian Gallery (Husova 536/14, Brno) and will be moderated by Osamu Okamura, an architect and program director reSITE.
