Irena Krcháková started her professional career in a radio station and then moved to Czech Television. She managed to combine her personal interest in domestic political scene and abroad with her work in the newsroom. She worked there for almost thirteen years. Irena is interested in political issues in the Czech Republic, but professionally she is closest to topics related to the European Union, the United States and the North Atlantic Alliance. While in television, Irena focused on creating content for CT24 and Události, now at the Institute for Politics and Society she works as an analyst. Irena is the author of extensive analytical outputs, a contributor to selected websites and, last but not least, moderates a number of debates and interviews with prominent personalities.

Irena is interested in sports events of all kinds and is herself an active sportswoman. She is also interested in the cultural scene, especially music and theatre.

She is a Vsetín resident at heart and a Prague resident for over twenty years. Irena has one daughter Maria.
