The Institute for Politics is headed not only by professionals but also by a great group of people. Together we are the most active Czech political think-tank that cultivates the political environment and offers solutions to current social problems.

As a master’s student specializing in European affairs, I knew I wanted to have an internship somewhere in Europe.  After looking through the vast amount of internship opportunities, I found an internship posting that the institute was looking for a native English speaker.  Looking through their website and the information about the internship, I knew immediately that I wanted to intern at the institute.  After an interview and an internship offer, I gladly accepted this chance.

My internship has given many opportunities I would not have dreamed of.  I was given many tasks with a lot of independence.   This included writing reports and blogs and helping with English text corrections.  One of the most exciting opportunities I had was the chance to write a paper that will be presented at a conference.  While these aspects were similar to school work, I have done in the past, one of the new experiences I had was helping to prepare for conferences and taking part in public events.  This was exciting since I was able to see the pay off from mine and my colleagues hard work.

Overall, my time at the institute was an amazing experience that I am thankful for.  All the staff and the other interns at the institute were helpful and kind, which made it delightful to go into work every day.  Thanks to them and the work I performed I was able to learn a lot about how think tanks work, Czech politics, and European politics.  With all of these experiences I now know that I will be ready to begin my career after graduation.
