As a student of Humanities, specifically Central European Studies, I would not have been able to choose a better internship than at the Institute for Politics and Society. Many of my University peers fail to recognize the benefits of work experience and practice for Humanities but I believe that this experience is vital and this is why I originally applied for an internship in the analysis team.

My main task was to produce a policy paper on an accumulation of functions based on an analysis of candidate lists and individual candidates who will be seeking a parliamentary mandate. it took a number of weeks to prepare this paper for publication due to the wide analysis required. This was one of the things that surprised me during my work; I would have never guessed that a comparatively short paper could take several weeks of work and effort. The rest of my workload consisted of a range of tasks including the monitoring of domestic and world events related to the migration crisis and contributing to the analysis of pre-election promises being fulfilled by the political movement YES. Other tasks I completed include translations from English to Czech,

I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to complete an internship at the Institute of Politics and Society and based on my experience I would recommend this option to all students who are considering it. Thanks to this internship I gained insight into the organization of a think tank and was able to apply my theoretical knowledge in practice. I would also like to highlight the professional and friendly working environment and time flexibility of this internship. Lastly, I would like to thank Marcela Voženílková and Šárka for their leadership, valuable advice and initiatives. It was an honor to be a part of your team even for just a few weeks.
