As part of the course Stáž v praxi available to the students at FSV UK, I was given the opportunity of completing an internship at the Institute for Politics and Society. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, I was not able to participate physically in the office, but I was offered to work from home. Nevertheless, my work there offered me a great way to learn and experience practical skills in the field of public sphere and politics. It was amazing to get to know a new environment that works quite differently than what I was previously used to.
During my stay, I did mainly analytical work. Mostly it consisted of translating documents and updating various files. In particular, I was updating the presentation representing the institute and its results during its previous years. Working remotely was difficult at times, but a very accommodating IPPS team always came to my aid and tried to help me with any issues I had.
An internship at the Institute for Politics and Society has been a great experience to me. Thanks to the guidance of qualified superiors, I was allowed to make mistakes and learn from them, as well as to learn from the work of others. I would especially like to thank Patrícia Petríková and Kristína Majerčíková for being such good role models for me.
