My time with the Institute was invaluable and an enriching experience. I was able to broaden and deepen my understanding of European Politics, transatlantic trade and partnership between the EU and US, as well as hone my writing and critical thinking skills. My responsibilities ranged from proofreading and editing to speechwriting and assisting with coordinating online roundtable conversations regarding topics like digitization, artificial intelligence, human rights, internal EU regulation and sovereignty.
Due to current circumstances my internship was remote/home office based however my participation and communication with the team was phenomenal and did not hinder success in this position in any way. If you are considering an internship with the Institute, I cannot recommend it enough. It was not a “typical” internship but a hands on experience where even the Executive Director, Dr. Šárka Prát appreciated feedback and suggestions and herself fostered a sense of collaboration that was diffused through the entire team down to the trainees. I am grateful for the experience and very much look forward to applying the skills I learned in my field and in my future career.
