Rut Bízková
Rut Bízková’s areas of interest are research and development, environmental protection and energy.
Over the course of last two decades, she worked in state administration, most recently as President of Technology Agency of the Czech Republic. She has also been the Minister of Environment for a short period of time as well as Deputy Minister of Environment for several years and advisor to the Deputy Minister for Energy. Rut Bízková entered public service after a career in research – she had worked in the Institute for Nuclear Research in Řež for more than ten years.
Rut Bízková has always sought to make state administration an effective apparatus that truly serves the citizens. She approaches research in the same manner asking, ¨Who will benefit from the activity? What will people gain from this? What about the state? Can it formulate and pursue its interests? Does the state even know that it should have interests in this matter?”
