As a graduate of the Faculty of International Relations at the University of Economics in Bratislava, I consider the selection of internship at the Institute for Politics and Society as the best option how to use the theoretical knowledge acquired during the studies and to gain new experience in the field of international relations.
Work at the Institute for Politics and Society has been very interesting and diverse for me. Since one of the main activities of the Institute is improvement of the political and public environment through open debate, I have had the opportunity to participate in various events organized by the Institute and where I have been involved in by myself. The largest was the third year of the conference Multiple Challenges for Europe 2018, which was attended by speakers from several European countries, addressing current challenges and problems within the European Union. In addition to the conference, I have also participated in several debates, such as Transfer of Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, “New-old” government: The future of the Grand Coalition in Germany and AI.cz – Artificial Intelligence as an Opportunity for the Czech and European Economy.
In addition to acquiring organizational skills, the work at the Institute taught me many other things. I improved my English, learned how to work with the web, and last but not least, I improved my writing skills, thanks to the preparing of various reports from the debates and business breakfasts organized by the Institute.
Overall, I appreciate this experience very positively also because of the great team of people I have been working with for two months and who have shown me how such an institute works. They have always been very helpfull and thanks to them I learnt a lot of new things that I will definitely use in the future. I can recommend the internship at the Institute for Politics and Society to anyone who studies international relations or is interested in the political or economic world events.
