Tünde Bartha has been the Head of the Cabinet of the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic since 2017, and she has simultaneously held the position of Head of the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic since 2018.
Bartha was born in the predominantly Hungarian-speaking region of Královský Chlmec in Eastern Slovakia. Since then, she has graduated from Charles University’s Faculty of Arts and gained Czech citizenship. Bartha has worked for various companies in the tourism sector, and also for start-ups and investment consultancy firms. From 2015 to 2017 she served as Director of the Cabinet of the Minister of Finance.
As the nineteenth Head of the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic, Tünde Bartha is only the second woman to hold the position since 1989. As part of her duties, she aims to bring the Office closer to the public and, and she strives to increase efficiency through digitalisation. Under her supervision in June 2020, the largest investment event in the modern history of the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic, worth more than CZK 300 million, was completed. Bartha is also active in the continuous improvement of the Office’s working environment and she supports healthy lifestyle choices for its employees.
