Vojtěch Šmolík is a postgraduate student of African Studies at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Hradec Králové. He acquired his bachelors and masters in Political Science and International Relations at the Charles University, and Political Science-African Studies at the University of Hradec Králové, respectively. In the last 8 years, he has been working in non-profit organisations in the field of development cooperation. He also participated on international projects.

In his academic research, Vojtěch Šmolík focuses on intra-state conflicts, post-conflict reconstruction and Euro-African cooperation. He has also published several research and popular articles.

As a volunteer and researcher, he has visited a number of African countries.
